Darline Gerber, 74, of Columbus, passed away March 19, 2008 at her residence after a brief battle with cancer. She was born October 23, 1933, in Columbus, daughter of the late Otto and Alma McDonald Reeves. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Gerber Sr.; son, Donald Gerber; one great grandchild; three brothers and four sisters. Darline was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her son, George Gerber Jr.; daughters, Sarah (Ralph) Gohring and Barbara Towns; brother, Thomas (Charly) Reeves; sister, Veda (Sonny) Amburgey; grandchildren, Ralph Gohring Jr., Cindy Hurst, Jo Anna Delande, Heather Towns and fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and very special buddy, Sassy Marie. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jeff Perkins of Lincare, Nathan Crawford of Riverside Hospital Patient Advocate and all of the employees of Hospice.
