David E. Harris was born on March 6, 1958 in Hartford, Illinois. Dave lived his life as a talented carpenter and expert craftsman, he worked as a coal miner for a period of time and also drove semi-trucks. Dave was a Jack of all trades, he could fix or modify anything you threw at him with ease. He always knew what to do. He was selfless beyond measure, he would do absolutely anything for the people he loved. Dave had many health struggles throughout his life, but that never wavered his attitude or happiness. Dave was truly a rarity. There was no one like him, and there never will be again. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Thelma and Maurice, sister Sharon, brothers Denny and Bud, daughter Vicki, and beloved pets Hattie and little Butch. He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Mary (Toots) Baker, his brother Mike, sisters Anita and Kathy, his dear long time friend Pat Wolford, his daughters; Carrie (Drew), Cheryl, Angela (Butch), Carroll (Mark), and Angie. His grandchildren; Benita (Shane), Austin, Sarah, Cassidy, Stevie, Justin, Zachary (Kelsey), and Kristin (Dominic). His great grandchildren; Brylin, Shyla, and Vallo. He is also survived by his treasured pets Molly and Karma. Dave loved and cared for his family more than anything. He enjoyed quality time together fishing, sharing meals, sharing stories, watching nascar, football, and the history channel. He loved to build things and tinker with anything he could. No amount of words can fully describe his importance and value to us, having someone like Dave in your life is truly a privilege. We will be lost without his abundance of knowledge and ability to face challenges. We can only hope that he knew how much he was loved and cherished by all that knew him.
