David Bennett Conrad

David Conrad, 80, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023.
David was born July 25, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, to Harvey and Harriet {Rethmel} Conrad.
He was a basketball star at Napoleon High School in Napolean, Ohio in northwest Ohio. Upon graduation he took his talents to Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio in southeast Ohio. It was there he met Kathryn Sebastin who was a student at St. Joseph's Nursing School in nearby Parkersburg, West Virginia. He and Kathy settled in Columbus when he was hired by Hamilton Township Local Schools and spent over 30 years as an educator and guidance counselor. After retirement he became an avid cyclist and enjoyed his time visiting Buxton, North Carolina on the Outer Banks. He also enjoyed sitting on his back porch drinking a cocktail while doing the New York Times crossword.
David will be deeply missed by his children Matthew Conrad {Tracey}, and Cristine Shaheen {Michael}; his grandchildren Benjamin Conrad, Samuel Shaheen, and Abigail Conrad; his siblings Marsha {Conrad} Sanholz, Pamela {Conrad} Osborne, and Robert Conrad; and his significant other of nine years Patricia Papagna.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Kathryn {Sebastin} Conrad.
