David E. "Dave" Edmister, 58, of Lewis Center passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a battle with Covid-19. He was comforted by his wife Diane and sons, Brandon, Zack and Alex, in his final moments.
Dave was born February 10, 1963, in Mount Vernon to the late Henry and Harriet (Hawk) Edmister. He worked with his father running Edmister's Excavating for several years, before moving on to work at Miraflex, Energy Machine, and finally Owen's Corning.
On November 25th, 2007 Dave married the love of his life, Diane. Together they shared wonderful memories and enjoyed each other's company every day. He enjoyed golfing, shooting, playing softball and bowling, Dave also loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, and he loved the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dave was also a car enthusiast, as long as it was made by Ford. He loved his F-150 but, his favorite car was his Mustang GT. He was also an extremely skilled handyman who could fix just about anything. He especially liked to spend his time woodworking and renovating his home. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren and always supported them in all that they did.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Diane (Young) Edmister; his five children, Brandon Edmister, Zachary Edmister, Danielle Edmister, Eric Gutierrez and Alex Gutierrez; his three siblings, Chuck Edmister, Denise (Jim) Hess, and Carol (Keith) Hess; two grandchildren, Haylee Kohler and Sarah Kohler; and one great grandchild, Roselynn. Besides his mother and father, Dave was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Nicki Gutierrez.
Friends and family are invited to attend memorial celebration for Dave at Newcomer Funeral Home, 10051 Brewster Lane in Powell. The celebration will be held on Monday October 25th.
Visiting will be from 5-7 pm and the memorial service will start at 7 pm.
