David E. Gressle, 72, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born June 18, 1939 in Newark, son of the late George and Eugenia Houck Gressle. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, John Gressle. He served on a submarine in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Dave was the Director of Food Service at Saga Foods for twenty years. He was also a baker for Tim Horton's, Meijer and Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dave for is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Street Gressle; daughters, Pam Mundew and Pattie (Denver Daniels) Street; granddaughters, Katey and Kari Mundew; brothers, Charles and George Gressle; special friends, Rick and Sharon Records, Frances McCumber and Pat Schimmoeller; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Kingwood Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr.'s Pelfrey and Hofmeister, Dave's oncology nurses especially Lori, Melissa and the rest of the staff at HomeReach Hospice.
