David Benjamin Fail, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November, 13, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 31, 1940, in Corning, OH, son of the late David Lance and Marcella Jane Potts Fail. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his infant son, David and son-in-law, Buzz Christy. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grove City, OH and had over 25 years of service in the plating industry spending his last 14 years as a manager at Rawac Plating Co. in Springfield, OH. Dave's passion was golfing and donating to those less fortunate. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Lena Fail; sister Sherry (Harry) Gierhart; sister-in-law Marilyn Burton; children, Kevin (Rachael)(Breezy, Bridgette, Angelina, David) Fail of TX, Marcella (Angie, Jason, Jeremy and great grandchildren) Fail of Columbus, OH, Teresa (Ryan, Jenny, Ben) Christy of Baltimore, OH, Patty (Alex)(Kimmy, AJ) Risser of Chesapeake, VA, Debbie (Tim) (Tahnee, Dakota) VanSickle of Laurelville, OH, Bryan (Anne Marie) Fail of Buxton, NC, Aneita (Scott)(Shelby, Sidney, Skyler, Shane) Raver of Canal Winchester, OH; special friends Ron and Karen Thurkettle, Ike and Eva Eickstaedt, Leon and Esther Wheeler, Paul and Shirley Carter and many nieces and nephews. Dave's last days were at home with loving support from HomeReach Hospice's staff of LaVonda, Bonnie, Lucy, Pam and Nanci. Thank you Pastor Ray for your guidance through the final days of Dave's journey to be with the Lord. Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus St. Grove City. Interment will be in Lithopolis Cemetery.
