David Andrew Fife, 73, of Centerburg, passed away on March 27, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on July 12, 1950 to the late Wallace Andrew (Andy) Fife and Eunice (Wolford) Butcher. Also preceded in death by his Stepfather Robert Butcher. He married Toksun Chong on August 12, 1972, and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tina (Jim) Griffith and Theresa (Trevor) Clark; brother, Kenneth (Janet) Fife; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great- grandsons; one niece; one nephew; and many other family members and friends.
After graduating high school, David enlisted in the United States Army; serving from October of 1970 to January of 1972. He reached the rank of Sargent in the infantry division. After honorable discharge, David took up a job as a mechanic; receiving education from Volkswagen. He served as a mechanic for Volkswagen North for 32 years then went on to working in construction until retirement. When he wasn't working or spending time with family; David loved to go hunting, fishing, and loved to tinker around the house.
Family will receive guests from 11am to 1pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral, Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. Service to follow at 1pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery. The Newcomer Family is honored to serve the Fife family.
