David Jackson Preece, 66, of River, Ky and formerly of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Huntington, WV. Born to the late Ernest and Oppy (Mattox) Preece in Inez, Ky., on June 28, 1942, David is survived by his daughter, Michelle Preece; sons, Earnest (Michelle Caudill) Preece, Michael (Carla) Preece, Philip Preece; grandchildren, Ashley, Shawn, Brandon, Krystal, Melissa, Kristen, Little D, Little Phillip; great-grandchildren, Scotty and Carley; sisters, Donnis Rabuck, Dorothy Plakaros, Della (Carl) Steigerwald; brothers, Dallas (Sandra) Preece, Daniel (Dochie) Preece; Companion of 14 years, Rosie Williams; close friends, Pam Abdon, Mike and Junior Curtis. David served in the US Army from 1961-1963. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
