David L. Jones, 49, of Columbus, OH passed away in his sleep after a brief illness on February 24, 2012. He graduated from Westland High School in 1981. David is survived by his father, Gene, mother, Dorothy "Dot", brothers, Larry R. (Vicki), Gregory D., and Dan (Tonya) Jones all of Columbus, nieces, Kayleigh Jones, Shayla Jones and many other family and friends. David was a 17 year employee of Certified Oil and Gas until health reasons caused him to leave his employment. He was a health care provider for his mother Dorothy during her illness. He was his fathers best friend. He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to his yearly trip to Lake Michigan with his employees and friends. He also enjoyed fishing his farm pond in southeastern Ohio. David will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
