David Eugene Lester, Sr.

David Lester, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, December 17, 2021 in Johnstown, Ohio.
He was born on February 23, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Basil and Catherine (Chandler) Lester.
David is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Lester, Jimmy Lester, Danny Lester, Dallas Lester.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Lester; son, David (Crystal) Lester, Jr., daughter, Lori (Robert) Beach; Grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler) Hillyer, Cheyenne (Brent) Hillyer, Issac Beach, Cameron Lawson, Lincoln Beach, Chloe Wiegand, Keegan Wiegand, Cooper Lester, Kennedy Lester; great-grandsons, Remington Diamond, Holt Benner; brother, Tom Lester and a host of friends and family.
David was a great family man who cherished his family dearly. He was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Hot-Rod cars and all things racing related. David served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 26, 2021, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 with the funeral service immediately following at 4:00pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel.
