David Maurice Phillips

David Maurice Phillips, Sr., 75, Columbus, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. David was born in San Jose, CA on November 2, 1937, to Ervin G. and Anita (Mitchell) Phillips and is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Milton Glen Phillips.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Taylor) Phillips; daughters, Sherry (Roger) Vincent and Lisa (Dave) Stroup; son, David (Ursula) Phillips, Jr; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
David was a 20 year retired veteran of the US Air Force, co-owner and operator of Cake Craft Co. along with his wife, Shirley, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 21, 2013, 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4701 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232.
Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
