David Edward Platt

David Edward Platt, 87, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord July 20, 2021. He was born July 29, 1933 to Richard and Flora (Farris) Platt.

David retired from USPS as a letter carrier and union steward of Branch 78. He enjoyed wood working and home improvements. David was a praying man, he loved the Lord and his family. He was a longtime member of Christian Life Fellowship, Gahanna Ohio.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife Betty June Platt; and oldest daughter, Sherri Courson.

David is survived by wife of 36 years, Sandra "Katie" Platt; children Sonia Tippett, Sharon Platt, Todd Coon, Amy Wood (Dan), Anissa Cashdollar (Jason), Sean Platt (Danya), Lori Payne (Shannon), Cheryl Sanchez (Cesar), Adam Koons, many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his favorite ex wife, Sandra I. Platt.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jul 28, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Christian Life Fellowship 830 Morrison Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Emeritus Tom Clark and Pastor Shannon Payne officiating. Burial will be at Northlawn Memory Gardens, where military rites will be held.
