David D. Smith

David Dale Smith, 86 years old, of Grove City, Ohio passed away at Mount Carmel Hospital on May 4, 2022 after a brief illness.

He was born on May 20, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of C.K Smith and Myrtle White Smith and brother to C.K., John, and Robert (deceased).

David attended Hurricane High School. He was an over the road truck driver for 39 years for Coastal Tank Lines, Chemical Leaman and Smith Transfer. He enjoyed, in his spare time, painting portraits and landscapes. David was a member of the Alkire Road Church of Christ.

Surviving family includes, wife, Connie McGhee Smith; sons, David Scott Smith (deceased), Eric (Chasity) Dale Smith; daughter, Kama Dena Smith Burge; grandchildren, Nathan James Burge, Aaron James Burge, Chelsea Mae Smith, Kirstyn Idelle Smith, Makenzie Dena Burge; great-grandchildren, Michael Nathan Burge, Greyson Levi Burge, Delilah Jean Burge, Kamden Josiah Burge, Gerenimo Burge; a very helpful and wonderful son-in-law, James Burge and many friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Thursday May 12, 2022 from 10am to 12pm. Funeral service will begin at 12pm with Pastor Hatfield officiating. A Graveside service will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
