David Lee Storts

February 1, 1953 — March 3, 2025

Columbus, Ohio

David Lee Storts, 72, of Columbus, born on February 1, 1953; in Columbus, to the late Jack William and Betty Ella (Heider) Storts; passed away on March 3, 2025.

Growing up in Northeast Columbus, David attended Hawthorne Elementary, Walnut Springs Middle, and Westerville South High School. He started his work life at Schottenstein’s Department Store before becoming a career Semi-Truck Driver.

As a trucker, he helped move cargo and needed goods throughout the area with Moore & Sons Trucking; Ward Trucking; and lastly, leading up to his retirement Conway/XPO Logistics.

When David wasn’t working, he loved to fish; especially when his dad was living. He loved to watch NASCAR races and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Boston Celtics.

When his health was good, David loved to work outside in his yard; pulling weeds, cutting grass, and watering flowers. He also loved the work of a good model car.

No matter the point of life his main hobby and passion was his grandkids; especially when they came over to visit him. He enjoyed sharing meals with them, including his favorites; his wife’s good home cooked meals, or a good fast food spot. But most of all he loved his sweets and having his daily coke was a good cap to every day for David.

Along with his loving wife, Lisa Kay Storts, David is survived by his son, Brad Lee Storts; daughters, Melissa Kay and Tera Elizabeth Storts (Jacob); step-sons, Richard “Ricky” King Wilson III and Zachery Thomas (Carley) Wilson; brother, Jack William (Carol) Storts; niece, Amanda Lee Waite (and her son, Kyrie Kingston Mays); and many Cherished Friends, Relatives, and Neighbors.

David is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Breanne Lee (Aaron) Bussard, Jayden Dante Storts, Serenity (Chi-Chi) Leigh Storts, Auracle Garnet Foster, Britnee Nicole Livingston, Tealor Dawn Storts, Cason William Keaton, Coen Robert Keaton, and Nova Marie Cooper; and his dear great-grandchildren, Hudson Bussard, Jameson Bussard, and Elias Bussard.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Jack W. and Betty E. Storts.
