Collett
Dayley Collett, 88, of Baltimore, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008 at his daughters residence. He was born September 8, 1920, in Elkins, W.Va., son of the late Douglas and Louvada Kesling Collett. In addition to his parents, Dayley was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Johnson Collett; daughter-in-law, Linda Collett and all of his brothers and sisters. He served in the Army during WWII in the 3rd Army, 28th Infantry Division and 109th Regiment. Dayley was captured during the Battle of the Bulge receiving a bronze star. He was a member of the Pickerington Church of Christ and retired from the Columbus Post Office. Dayley is survived by his son, Stanley D. Collett; daughter, Sharon (Jim) Adkins; grandsons, Tim (Besty) Smith, Stanley "Lee" (Millie) Collett and Jason (Joy) Collett; great grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Courtney and Joshua Dalton, Mackenzie, Hannah and Rachel Collett; many nieces, nephews and fellow church family. Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Pickerington Church of Christ, 9645 Stoudertown Road, Pickerington, OH. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the church, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pickerington Church of Christ, 9645 Stoudertown Rd. Pickerington, OH 43147 or Hospice of Morrow County, 228 S. St. Mt. Gilead, OH 43338.
