Deanna Mary Wilson

Deanna Mary (Del Col) Wilson, born August 26, 1937. Passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Alercare Rehabilitation Center, Newark, Ohio at the age of 86. Deanna is preceded in death by her parents, Giovanni and Pierina Del Col, brothers Bruno and Sergio Del Col. She is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Kristie (Clyde) Smith, her granddaughters, Mariah (Shane) Wilson and Brielle (Tyler) Sheets and great grandchildren, Carter and AnnaMarie Wilson. Deanna is also survived by her nephew, Sergio (Kathy) Del Col and nieces, Theresa (Bill) Conley and Laura (Jerry) Dennison as well as her dearest friend, the sister she never had, Rita Ward. She is also survived by many friends and numerous cousins, including Rita Dietrich, with whom she shared many an adventure.

Deanna retired from the State of Ohio after giving 30 years of service as Director of Claims at the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Deanna lived her life for faith, family and friends. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was an active volunteer at the garage sales, bake sales and always on the ready to lend a hand to any job which needed accomplished. At St. Matthias Church she made sandwiches for the homeless and always cut the perfect piece of pie at the Fish Fry.

Deanna’s family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Newcomers Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Family and friends are asked to meet for her funeral Mass Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church Catholic Church, 893 Hamlet Street (at First Avenue), Columbus (43215). Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
