Debbie Vermaaten, born on May 11, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that touched the lives of many.
Debbie was a devoted activity director for seniors, a role that she embraced with passion and commitment, finding joy in enriching the lives of those she served. She took pride in her profession, instilling joy and providing companionship to her seniors. Her caring nature extended beyond her work; she was a loving mother and grandmother, proud of her family and their accomplishments.
As a cherished daughter of Shirley Bentley and the late James Siconolfi, Debbie exemplified the values of family and tradition which she carried throughout her life. She was dedicated to her loved ones and held dear her hobbies and interests, including genealogy, crafting, making flower arrangements, and decorating. Watching her grandchildren play sports brought her immense joy, and she cherished holiday traditions and family gatherings that created lasting memories.
Debbie is survived by her mother, Shirley Bentley, her beloved husband, Stan Vermaaten, and their children: Jamie (Mary) Vermaaten, Mike (Amber) Vermaaten, Brian (Yvonne) Vermaaten, and Amy (Shawn) Hess. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Cierra, Gage, Zoe, Jenna, Owen, Vincent, Nehemiah, Evelyn, Cecilia, Elise, and grand-pup, Henry J. along with her great-grandson, Justin. Debbie is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Ingram and Lori (Boo) Hayden, who shared many cherished moments with her. Debbie loved being an aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on January 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest, located at 10051 Brewster Ln, Powell, OH 43065.
Debbie Vermaaten's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and inspired. Her unwavering dedication to family, friends, and her work will be cherished and remembered fondly by all who knew her.
