Deborah Lynn Smith

January 8, 1963 — July 8, 2024

Gahanna

Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Smith, 61, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024.

Debbie was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and partner. She was born on January 8, 1963, in Williamson, WV to Lester and Hazel (Dibble) Smith. Debbie is survived by her father Lester, sister Doneica, her brother Gary (Nancy), as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her longtime partner, Dan, her loving children Jennifer (Ryan) and Justin (Tsion). She adored her role as a grandmother to Owen and Ethan. She is preceded in death by her mother Hazel, and brother Eddie.

Debbie had a deep love of her family and found joy in nature and animals. She was especially fond of her grand-dogs, Bubby, Gus and Maddie, often babysitting and spoiling them. She also loved nothing more than watching birds, enjoying sunshine, and gazing at the clouds. Even plants felt Debbie’s loving spirit, as she often displayed her green thumb with her vast collection of plants around her home. Her laugh was infectious, filling the room. She often laughed until she cried, and she was always able to find joy, and humor, in every situation. You couldn’t help but to laugh along with her. While our hearts mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, and her laughter and joy is now filling the heavens.

A graveside service will be held at Mifflin Township Cemetery at 155 Olde Ridenour Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230 on July 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Celebration of life to immediately follow the service. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.NewcomerColumbus.com. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund.
