Delmer was born and raised in Logan, WV. As an adult work brought him to Columbus. He had a few different careers until he settled down with his own handy man business Wally's Westside Maintenance. In his younger years before cell phones he was very involved in a CB radio club where he was known as Walleye. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and taking his children camping. He was an avid fisherman with a great sense of humor. He loved to cook and bake. He expressed his love for you through food. More than anything the thing he enjoyed most was picking on and pranking his grandchildren. He truly got a kick out of being ornery with the grandkids. In his last few years he enjoyed playing board games with his great-grandson Braxton. He really enjoyed beating Braxton at every game of checkers and telling everyone that he couldn't be beat. What he did not enjoy was Braxton introducing him to new games that he could not win. He will truly be missed by so many. All of us will feel lost at some point in our lives when we need something (tools, clippers, fishing gear, or even food) and he is no longer around to pull these items out of his pockets for us. He sure left an imprint on us all.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Delmer's caregivers, granddaughter Melissa Brown, great-grandson Braxton Brown, and family friend Karen Shick.
