Delores May Ziegler, 85, of Westerville, Ohio passed away at Westerwood Retirement Community on February 24, 2024.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 4, 1938, to the late Ray and Mabel (McGee) Benjamin. She married Ray Ziegler on September 21, 1956, spending 54 years together until his passing in 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, Delores was preceded in death by her sister, Lynette Parmer of Westerville.
Those left to cherish memories of Delores are her sons Kevin (Sandra) Ziegler of Westerville, and Neil (Kelly) Ziegler of Columbus, grandchildren Andrew, Elizabeth, and Maxwell, and great grandchild Adonis, brothers Michael "Tom" (Donna) Benjamin and David (Cindy) Benjamin, and cousin Charlotte Benjamin Herriott.
Delores and Ray owned two businesses in Westerville: Ray Ziegler Heating and Cooling for many years until it was sold, and Something Special Shoppe, a rock, crystal, and fossil store, since 1987. Delores enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening, needlepoint, jigsaw puzzles, and collecting Heisey glass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601. Please note that the contribution should be directed to the Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association in memory of Delores Ziegler.
