Dennis Leroy Michaels, 57, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born July 21, 1949, in Altoona, Pa., son of the late Martin and Evangeline Gensler Michaels. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Harry Michaels and sisters, Dorothy Gower, Myrtle Chase and Frances Stewart. Dennis served in the U.S.M.C. during Veitnam receiving a purple heart award. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Harris Michaels; daughters, Robin (Raymond) Martinez and Tina Michaels; grandchildren, Kristina, Antonio, Martha Martinez and Domonique Michaels; brother, Ralph (Mattie) Michaels; sisters, Della Michaels, Phyllis Michaels, Ruby (Norman) Zanders, JoAnn (Terry) Pflugh, Kathy (Mike) Montgomery, Edith Hayes, Beatrice Hoffman, Betty Jeirles, Cora Brantner and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus and also Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Wednesay, January 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Major Norman Zanders, officiating. Interment will be in Kingwood Memorial Park.
