Dennis "Denny" Richard Nighbert, 60, went to his final rest on February 23, 2011 after a long battle with diabetes and muscular dystrophy. Born March 6, 1950. Dennis was a graduate of West High School and a lifelong resident of Columbus. He will be warmly remembered for his devotion to work, family and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Dennis was a retired security guard who was once recognized for an incredible streak of 17 years without missing a single day of work. He was also an avid Buckeye fan who never missed a game. Preceded in death by his mother, Erline. Survived by wife, Susan; son, Nick; siblings, Ronnie (Sherry), Sherline (Drew) Lear; nephews, Rob (Stacy), Tommy Lear; nieces, Shelly, Keitha Lear; other nieces, many cousins and father, Sherman. Visitation Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 2-6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Monday, February 28, 2011 at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. Those wishing to honor Dennis are encouraged to give to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
