Derek Matthew Stevens

Derek Matthew Stevens, age 43, of Columbus, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on August 7th, 2022. Derek was born on May 26, 1979 to Fred Stevens and Tina (Kidd) Stevens. He was known for his exuberant personality and infectious smile. Derek was always the brightest light in the room and had a gift of making every person feel like they mattered. As the saying goes, Derek never met a stranger. He was a member of the IBEW 683 as an electrician- a role he was extremely proud of for a number of years.

Derek shared his life with fiancé, Amber Schooley for the past 8 years, along with their son, Collin Stevens. The two shared a beautiful blended family including Derek's daughter, Marissa Hamm (Shane); granddaughter, Everleigh; and stepson, Cameron Muncy. Derek devoted to his family, and loved getting together for holidays, OSU football games and family reunions with his brother, Dustin (Mandi) Stevens; sister Danielle Stevens; brother-in-law Matt Schooley; and his nieces and nephews Savanna, Alex, MJ, Ayden, Bentley, Brianna, and Ava. Derek is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Billie Stevens.
