Dereon M. Hunter

Dereon Hunter was born on November 09, 2012, to Andria Reeves and Demetrius Hunter in Columbus, Ohio. A flock of angels escorted him to his Heavenly Host upon departing this life on September 23, 2022.

Dereon attended Colerain Elementary School. Dereon was born with multiple serious health conditions however he never let those medical conditions define him and he fought gallantly to survive. Dereon had an indomitable spirit and a light which illuminated from within. Dereon had a diverse reaction to everyone who conversed with him. His optimism was invigorating, and he laughed often. His grandmother fondly recalled Dereon's beautifully crooked smile and cooing in his own language. The average person would have succumbed to his conditions at birth, but Dereon triumphed repeatedly, affirming his bravado and stamina. Dereon was the nucleus of his family and fondly referred to as "The Boss" because he always made his presence known. Dereon was only with his family for a short season of nine years, but he made an indelible impression on everyone he encountered. Dereon will be sorely missed and can never be replaced in the family's hearts.

He was preceded in death by his great grandfather—Vernon Reeves Sr.; great grandmother—Sarah Hunter; grandfather--Willie Clark; grandmother—Deitra Reeves; great uncle—Vernon Reeves Jr.; uncle—Marcus Hunter and sister—Alana Hunter.

He leaves to cherish his memory: mother—Andria Reeves; father—Demetrius Hunter; sisters—Nisya Hunter, Sarah Hunter, Layla Hunter and Clarke Hunter; brothers—DeAndre Hunter, Alexander Love, Daniel Hunter, Andrew Hunter and Shamar Hunter; grandmother—Kathryn Hunter and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 14, 2022 from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Newcomer SW Chapel 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
