Diane Kaye Cook

December 6, 1942 — May 6, 2024

Diane Kaye Cook, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024 at her home in Columbus, OH. She was born December 6, 1942 in Columbus, OH to Robert W. Trainor, Sr. and Evelyn M. (Hill) Trainor.

Diane graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 1961. Her first job was with Ohio Bell as a telephone operator, and later she earned her cosmetology license, working briefly as a hairdresser.

Diane married Michael L. (Mike) Cook, Sr. on April 7, 1962 in Columbus, OH, and they shared 62 years together. Their union was blessed with four children and seven grandchildren. She adored her children and grandchildren as they were the light of her life. The family is saddened that she won’t get to meet her first great grandchild due in September.

Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and also employed as an area supervisor with J.C. Penney at the Woodville Mall in Northwood, OH in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Diane was a very compassionate mother, daughter, and sister who cared for her mother and her brother, Bob, during long term illnesses. She also held a very special place in her heart for all of the family pets over the years, and they loved her as well.

Mike and Diane relocated often due to Mike’s career-related transfers, living in Walbridge, OH, North Augusta, SC, Green Bay, WI, Westminster, MD, and Hanover, PA before finally returning to Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Robert (Bob); and brothers, Leonard J. (Jim) Trainor and Robert W. (Bob) Trainor, Jr.

Diane is survived by:
Husband of 62 years: Mike, Sr.
Son: Michael, Jr.
Daughters: Cari Crawford (Mike Lohrer) and Sheri (Scott, Sr.) Davis
Daughter in-law: Joyce Ingold Cook
Grandchildren: Keegan Crawford, Carson Cook, Cassidy (Cameron) Duke, Connor Cook, Scott (Kim) Davis, Jr., Seth Davis, and Sierra Davis
Best friend and “sister”: June Williamson
Nephews: Marc Wolfe and Robert W. (Rob) Trainor, III
