Dixie Skaggs, 83, of Columbus, OH passed away April 3, 2011. She was born on December 9, 1927 in Paintsville, KY to Barnes and Louella (Smith) Ferguson. She married Escom Skaggs on September 14, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 9 brothers and son George Skaggs. Surviving family includes, husband, Escom Skaggs, son, Roger (Cheryl) Skaggs, daughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Dilley, grandsons, Steve (Jackie), Jeff, Mike (Lynn), Jason (Rachel), granddaughters, Amy (Cristian), Molly and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, OH. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for all of their care and comfort.
