April 25, 2009, Dolores "Jean" Martin, after a courageous battle with COPD, departed this life at Mt. Carmel Hospital, where she retired after many years of service. Jean was born to Roy and Ruby Bethea on November 6, 1932 in Lexington, KY. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie D. Smith and brother, Norman L. Bethea. Jean was a very devoted mother and is survived by her daughter, Gayla (Chuck) Conyers; brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Bethea; sisters, Gloria M. (Eugene) Knapp and Marlene (Johnnie) King; grandchildren, Anita Savage, Michael (Dawn) Shafer, Matt (Wendy) Conyers and Cory (Kim) Conyers; great-grandchildren, April (Donny), Ronnie, Brandon, Madison, Andrew, Jalin, Callie, Daxton, Abbey, Dylan, Noah and Samantha; great-great-grandchildren, Mason and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and close friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice C/O Mount Carmel Foundation, 793 W. State St., Columbus, OH 43222.
