Dolores May Mcgee

Dolores May Barker Reynolds McGee, passed from this life on July 1, 2015 at the age of 90.

Dolores will be deeply missed by her many loved ones: children, Deborah McGee (Douglas Klappich), Charles McGee, Jr. (Gail), Shawnda Schmidt (John), and Michelle Hanson (Frank); step-children, Anne-Marie Jones (Mark), Neil Reynolds and Steve Reynolds; grandchildren Matt McGee (Marla), Jason Schmidt, Sarah Schmidt, Ryan Hanson (Rebekah), Adam Hanson and Colin Hanson; great-grandchild, Evan Mitchell McGee; nieces, Billie Willson (Howard) and Sharon Booth (Jeff); nephew, Harry Rice; and grand-niece, Jessica Booth.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Barker; by husbands, Kenneth Reynolds and Charles McGee, Sr.; and by sisters, Georgia Rice and Patricia Darst.

Dolores was born on September 23, 1924 in Columbus, OH and graduated in 1942 from North High School (Columbus). She retired from Bank One (now Chase Bank), and worked earlier in her life at the Union Company department store and North American Aviation in Columbus. She was always proud of her volunteer work at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She lived independently at Ridgeview Manor in Johnstown until a year ago. Dolores loved fishing, reading, word puzzles, music, and family get-togethers. She was a devout Christian, always ready with words of comfort and prayers at difficult times.

For their kind efforts in helping take care of Dolores, the family would like to thank the staff at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00am also at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery.
