Dominga Aracely Sanabria Pacheco

August 4, 1945 — January 31, 2022

Family and friends mourn the sad death of our beloved Aracely Sanabria Pacheco at the age of 76. She passed away on January 31, 2022 in the city that adopted her and in which she enjoyed the latter years of her life, Westerville Ohio. Aracely was born in Talanga, Department of Francisco Morazán, in Honduras on August 4, 1945, the daughter of the late Pilar Pacheco Palma and Ramón Sanabria Valle.

She is survived by her loving husband Gregorio Diaz Gomez, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage and her children Eric Eleazar Diaz Sanabria (Shari Diaz), Iliana Jezabel Diaz Sanabria (Jean-Marc Dallaire) and Debora Eunice Diaz Sanabria ( Michel Abitbol). Her grandchildren are Erika Dallaire-Diaz, Alexandre Dallaire, Hector Diaz, Elena Diaz, Seth Diaz, Elizabeth Abitbol Diaz, and Eva Diaz.

Aracely moved to Mexico City at a very young age to pursue her nursing studies at the "Instituto Nacional De Cardiologia" (National Institute of Cardiology) in Mexico as well as a bachelor's degree at "UNAM" (National University of Mexico). She had a long and outstanding career as a teacher and today she is recognized at the University of Sonora as a founder and promoter of her discipline and as an advocate for quality training of professionals in the healthcare field.

"My way of giving love is with food" Aracely used to say. Who has not received a generous amount of love in the form of an exquisite and comforting dish for the belly and the heart? We will remember her as a strong, brilliant, curious and passionate woman. She was an intellectual, always learning something new. She devoured with passion and interest hundreds of books, magazines and newspapers. She enjoyed quiet moments alone; reading was her refuge and her faithful companion. She lived and fought fiercely for her family and lifted up many lives with her strength and her generosity. The best moments of her life were without a doubt when she was surrounded by her family; proud, happy, confident and full. Traveling and discovering new worlds and cultures was a source of exaltation. She was never happier than when it was time for a new adventure.

Her voice and her raucous laughter will forever resonate in the depths of our hearts. She rests in peace and watches over us; beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, friend.
