Donald Lee Rakes

Donald Lee Rakes, age 85, passed away on January 25, 2021. He was born on May 30, 1935 in Kenova, WV to the late William and Gladys Rakes. He retired from the C&O Railroad; Don was passionate about woodworking.
He was a dedicated husband of over 50 years to his wife, Carol. Don was a member of Parsons Baptist Church for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Larry Rakes.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Steve, Rick, Donald (Angi), Jody (David); step children, Dale and Della; as well as 12 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Harold (Marge), Odie, and Willie Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29 from 9 AM to 11AM at Newcomer Grove City Chapel. Service will be held at 11 AM, followed by interment at Obetz Cemetery.
