Donald E. Gibson

Donald E. Gibson, age 81, of Galloway, Ohio passed away at home on August 13, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 19, 1943 to the late Dewey and Leslie Gibson in Logan, West Virginia. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patty Gibson, his children, Rashon and Dashon, and his many siblings. 

He is lovingly survived by his children Penny (Steven) Hagans, Shari (Jason) Lewis, Donnie Gibson, Tracey Gibson, Michael Gibson, Stephanie (Jerry) Stevens, Chris (Kym) Gibson, and Whitney (Ian) Cross, his grandchildren, Kristi, Keri, Dylan, Kody, Malaina, Trey, Tyler, Trent, Micah, Jameson, Braydon, Silas, Jasira, Camron, and devoted granddaughter, Skylar, his great-grandchildren, Mason, Zoe, Rowan, Toby, Bristol, Kai, Rhett, Barrett, and many extended family and friends. 

A simple man who loved country and bluegrass music, often playing on his guitar. His hobbies included hunting and fishing at his cabin, watching football, and spending time with his family. He hated being idle and enjoyed working outside - gardening, and building projects for his family. 

He will be remembered for his strong, stoic demeanor, his intense love for his family, and his unique sense of humor.

He will be greatly missed. 

Family and friends may gather on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 11am-1pm for visitation hours at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A funeral will follow starting at 1pm officiated by Celebrant Sean Warren. Burial will take place at Alton Cemetery.
