Donald Howard Moore, age 84, born in Columbus, Ohio, passed away November 13, 2021. Don was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 22, 1937 to the late Paul Moore and Goldie Moore (Grimm).
He is preceded in death also by all four of his siblings, Betty Bergman, Paul Moore, Jean Shuster, and Milton Moore.
His surviving family includes his loving wife of 62 years, together for 65 years, Ramona June Moore, children Donald H Moore Junior ( spouse Patricia) and Cherie Moore (spouse David), and grandchildren Luke Moore and Ian Moore.
Don was a giver, helping people throughout his life, beginning when his father passed away when Don was 13 years old and he took care of his mother and his grandmother. He loved building and racing stock cars, when he was a teenager, and especially winning. He graduated from Westerville High School in 1955, where he played football and did track and field, specializing in pole vault with his bamboo pole. Don retired after 35 years with Bell Labs of Western Electric (AT&T).
He enjoyed fitness activities throughout his life and was one of the first people to regularly work out in a gym when it wasn't popular. He still went to the gym, hiked, mowed his lawn, and lived his healthful lifestyle until Bulbar ALS disease attacked his body months before passing. He loved his plant-based diet of 25 years and sharing his love of food with others, such as his annual vegan candy buckeyes.
Don loved working in his yard, helping neighbors, and fixing things. He especially enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren, including activities such as multiple trips to Cedar Point, driving their teams to track meets, taking them on numerous camping trips, supporting them at their bike races throughout the country, and whatever activities they were doing at the time.
