Donald A. Ratliff, age 84, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was born in Narrows, Va., on June 16, 1933 to the late Martin and Addie Ratliff.
As a young man Donald served his country as an M.P. with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golfer, and also loved square dancing with G.C. Western Squares. He always looked forward to the yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with his family. His greatest love in life was his wife and his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Fred, Estel, Tommy, Virgil, Hazel and Agnes. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne; sons, Richard (Lynn) Ratliff and Gregory (Angie) Ratliff; grandchildren, Bryan (Danielle) Ratliff, Jodi (Jeremy) Henson, Brea (John) DeVault, Adam (Crystal) Ratliff, Sean (Heidi) Ratliff and Ashley Ratliff; great grandchildren, Joshua, Anna, Avery, Gracie, Mason, Ella and Aaron; siblings, Jack "JC" Ratliff and Hilda Gillispie.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 at Harlem Road United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Rd., Galena, OH 43021 where the memorial service will be held following at 2:00pm.
