Donald Schooley
July 18, 1941 — April 2, 2021
Donald "Don" E. Schooley, Age 79, of Columbus, OH passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Schooley; grand-daughter, Fawn Marie Friebis and his brother, Kenny Schooley.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rita Schooley; daughters Dawn (Brian) Friebis and Tina (Lisa) Asbury; Grand-daughters, Mallory (Lucas) Murphy, Erinn (Blain) Gatterdam, Taylor Little, Alex (Nathan) Harms, Sarah (Dominick) Smith, Sydney Little, and Abigail Friebis; Great-grandchildren, Fiona Gatterdam, Owen Gatterdam and Parker Gatterdam; brother, Ronald (Sally) Schooley; sister, Paula (Bruce) Bowman; nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
Donald served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired after a long career with the United States Postal Service. In his earlier years, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes as well as rebuilding and restoring classic automobiles.
He was a lifelong racing fan and enjoyed watching and participating in the sport.
A private service will be held with immediate family and he will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July 2021 for all family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Kobacker House for their sympathy and kindness.
