Donald E. Shipley, 75, of Grove City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 22, 2009. He was born July 6, 1934, in Okemos, Michigan, son of the late Edward and Venevera Shipley. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Louise and sister, Patricia Blum. He graduated from Okemos H.S., received his B.S. from Michigan State and M.A. from Xavier. Donald served in the Army, and retired after 30 years of service as a teacher and counselor with S.W.C.S. He cherished his relationship with his Savior and was an active member of Jackson Chapel U.M.C. for 43 years. Donald is survived by his sons, Todd (Faith), Jeffrey (Donna), Daniel (Jodelle), Brian and Steven (Jacqueline); grandchildren, Seth, Nikki, Andrea (Mark) Nance, Greg, Danielle and Kenny. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Memorial service will be Friday, August 28, 2009 at 12:00 PM at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 4473 S.R. 104 at White Rd. Grove City, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jackson Chapel Memorial Fund, 4473 S.R. 104 Grove City, OH 43123 or Mt.
