Donna Marie Gunn

Donna Marie Gunn, age 73, of Columbus, Ohio, went to be with the Lord in Heaven on February 16, 2025, in the comfort of her son's home. Born on January 22, 1952, in Peoria, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of the late Clyde Witherspoon and Norma Pence.

Donna's life, though brightened by many joyful moments, also bore the weight of loss; she was preceded in death by her dear daughter, Loralei Graham, and her brother, Marvin McCarl Jr. These losses etched deep scars on her heart, yet they never dulled her spirit or her capacity for love.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Gunn, who stood beside her through life's complexities. Her legacy continues in her sons, Troy Lizardi, Gary Phillips, and Bob Phillips, who carry forward her enduring love and compassionate nature. The warmth she spread through her family is echoed in the laughter of her 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in her life. Additionally, she is survived by her special dogs, Jake and Yogi, and brothers, Robert Witherspoon and Tim McCarl, reminding all of the familial bonds that grounded her.

Donna had a zest for life that drew her toward new adventures. She loved to travel, capturing experiences in far-flung places, including Israel and Canada. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, she found solace and exhilaration on the water, spending precious hours on the boat. Her deep faith and love for her church provided her with strength and solace, nurturing her soul throughout her journey.

To her family and friends, Donna was a beacon of light — a source of inspiration and unwavering support who will be deeply missed. The impact she had on their lives cannot be expressed in words, as she radiated warmth and kindness everywhere she went.

Family and friends are invited to honor her memory on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, where calling hours will be held, followed by a funeral service at 4pm.
