Donna Diane Jakeway

Donna Diane Jakeway, 76, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Monday, November 7th, 2022.

Donna was born October 6th, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio to Jesse and Mary (Hines) Fogle.

Donna was a huge fan of THE Ohio State football team, she never missed watching a game. She loved fishing, spending time with her children, and her grandchildren. She loved her family fiercely. Donna dedicated over 30 years working at Schottenstein's North. She worked in the children's department and always enjoyed helping customers.

Donna loved spending Friday nights at B&B Pizza with family and having breakfast at Bob Evans. Donna loved making her friends and family laugh as her spirit and smile were both contagious. She also was the only woman known for kicking a fifty-yard field goal during her teenage years per her story she shared every holiday. This has not been fact checked by any family members.
Donna will be deeply missed by her three children, Brenda (Ron), Brian (Brandi), and Brett (Jen); grandchildren Jimmy (Chrissy), Scotty (Carol), Christine, Jordan, Makayla, Brandon, Tarik, Ava, Brett Jr., and her grandchild on the way, Aisla; great-grandchildren Jace, Jaxon, Sydnee, Hazel, Michael Jr., Liam, Rowan, and Roman; and her sisters Grace and Carol.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Harold Shafer of many years.

Memorial services will be Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus.

Many thanks to the caregivers with Wesley Hospice in New Albany for the support and kindness shown to Donna in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital as this organization was close to Donna's heart.
