Donna L. Kopp

Donna Lee (Wade) Kopp, 83, of Powell, OH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Sunrise Senior Living of Dublin (OH) after an extended illness. 

Donna was born on July 21, 1941 to Kenneth and Mary (Hoovler) Wade in Cleveland, OH. A graduate of Willoughby High School, she attended The Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She and her college sweetheart, Charles (Jeff) Kopp were married in 1964 and lived most of their married lives in Central Ohio.

From 1981 to 1983, Donna lived in Royal Oak, MI, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Antiquities from Wayne State University. She lived in Howell, NJ from 1983 to 1986 teaching Latin at St. Rose of Belmar Catholic High School and substitute teaching throughout the Freehold Regional High School District. She returned to Columbus in 1987 and spent the duration of her career at Nationwide Life and Health Insurance Company as a Health Claims Examiner. 

After both retired from Nationwide, Donna and Jeff moved to Powell, OH. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Mediterranean, especially with treasured friends from the Aladdin Shrine. 

Donna was an avid quilter and enjoyed making specialty quilts for her family and friends.She was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Thea Court #5. She was an active member in her church communities, formerly with St. Luke’s and Clinton Heights Lutheran churches and most recently with All Shepherd’s Lutheran Church in Delaware, OH where she was a member of the choir and many key committees. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles G. (Jeff) Kopp, of Powell, OH; daughter and son-in-law Judi (Aaron) Dominey of Lewis Center, OH; son David Kopp and granddaughter Rebecca Kopp of Hilliard, OH; sister JoAnn Jones of St. Mary’s, WV; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, sister Ellen Sharisky, father- and mother-in-law Robert and Beryl Kopp, her grandparents, aunts and uncles. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at All Shepherd’s Lutheran Church, 6580 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and invites all to a reception following. A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date at Kingwood Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing to the Worship and Music Ministry at All Shepherd’s Lutheran Church. 

The family wishes to extend their profound thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Dublin and Zusman Hospice Services for the comfort and care given to Donna during her illness.
