HOCKMAN
Doris Evelyn Hockman of Grove City died May 14, 2005, in Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. Mrs. Hockman was 90 and preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hockman, Sr. in 1985. A native of Washington C. H., OH, Mrs. Hockman spent most of her working career with her husband in the restaurant business, beginning with the historic downtown MILLS Restaurant, a High Street landmark, managed by her husband in the 1940's and 50's. The couple also managed a number of motels and restaurants and owned the Merry-
Go-Round Restaurant and Lounge in Columbus for many years. Mrs. Hockman was the 3rd of 13 children in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Grimm, Sr., of Washington, C. H. Preceded in death by both parents, along with three of Mrs. Hockman's brothers, Gordon Grimm of San Diego, CA, Robert Grimm and Charles Grimm both of Dayton. Two sisters who also preceded Mrs. Hockman in death were Mrs. Mildred Coldren of Columbus and Mrs. Mary Woodgeard of Atlanta, GA. A son-in-law, Howard Hockman, Jr., is also deceased. Family members surviving Mrs. Hockman include Art Grimm, Allendale, SC. , Roger Grimm of Washington, C.H., and Paul Grimm of Myrtle Beach, SC; 4 sisters, Joann Gorden of Plain City, Wilma Lewis of Columbus, Janice Edwards of Grove City and Carol Perry of Marshallville, GA. Hockman family survivors include Marylin Hockman, her daughters Kelly and Shannon and son Andy all of Columbus and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Hockman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grove City. Visitation will be held 4-8:00pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest chapel, 3393 Broadway Ave., Grove City, Ohio 43123. Funeral services will be held 11:00a.m, Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the funeral home. Dr, Jerry Neal will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
