Dorothy Beery

Dorothy Beery, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Gahanna, Ohio. Born to Harley Kirker Sr. and Della Bowles, on July 9, 1925, in Jefferson Twp., Brown County, Ohio, she enriched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey.

Dorothy was known for her deep love of family and the joy she derived from her role as a caregiver and nurturing presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her cherished children, Michael L. (Carol) Farris and Percy C. (Meghan Smith) Farris. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren: Michael K. (Colleen) Farris, Tammy (Jay) Coyer, Jeremy Farris, Amber (Farris) Baker and Jason Moore, along with her Great-grandchildren, Leslie (John Bennett) Coyer, Jeremyiah, Blayne, Benjamin Farris, Billy, Autumn and Mason Bryant. Dorothy was also a proud Great-great-grandmother to Brenden, Bracksden, and Braiden Bennett.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son Richard Farris and her grandson Richard (Rick) Farris, both of whom she missed dearly and whose memories she cherished every day.

The family invites all to gather for a visitation and funeral service to honor Dorothy's life on January 9, 2025. The visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Both services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231.

Dorothy's contributions to her family and community will not be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
