Dorothy L. Blanton, 83, Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Columbus, OH on November 14, 1927, and is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn (Hostetter) Curty; son, Douglas Asprey; daughter, Vicki Moore. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Forest Blanton; daughters, Kathy Whitaker, Lynne (Tony) Featherston, Cheryl (Danny) Cook; sons, Randy (Patty) Blanton, Tom (Pam) Blanton, Michael Blanton; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and many friends. Dorothy graduated from West High School in 1945 and was a member of the Gahanna Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011, 2-6PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Monday, May 23, 2011, 12:00 PM at Gahanna Free Will Baptist Church, 3868 Stygler Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
