Dorothy (Dottie) F. Parsons (88 years old). Dottie was born on July 25 1932 in Baltimore Maryland to the late Frederick and Ana (Orlick) Fleischmann. She passed away at the Kobacker House from cancer on December 31 2020.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years and 4 months, Robert (Bob). She has 3 children: Michael (Paula) of League City TX, Brenda Slay of Powell OH and Randi (Scott) Hornback of Clayton NC. 3 grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Keiser of Westerville (Brenda), Brittany (Tyler) Butts of Clayton, NC (Randi) and Kyle Hornback of Clayton, NC (Randi). Dottie has 2 sisters, Lorraine Socha of Maryland and Shirley (Dan) Bowers of PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son in law, Clifford Slay and by her Great Aunt Frances and Great Uncle Richard who raised her and her sisters. Dottie was a 49-year 10-month member of Lorraine Chapter #1 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Columbus, OH. Dottie worked as a secretary at Battelle Memorial Institute before having children and at JC Penney after her children were older until her retirement in 1988.
Her funeral will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery for immediate family only due to COVID 19. An Eastern Star service by members of Lorraine Chapter #1 will be performed.
The officiant will be David Bondurant of Westerville Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dottie's memory to the Ohio Masonic Home at 2655 W National Rd Springfield, Oh 45504 or Lorraine Chapter #1 OES at 5498 Abel Merril Rd Columbus, OH 43221.
