Dotson Franklin, 83, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 in Columbus, OH. He was born on August 2, 1933 in Smith, WV to Chester and Rosie Franklin.
Dotson is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Anita Kay Byas; brothers, Howard and Teddy Franklin and sister, Elizabeth Franklin.
He is survived by wife of 62 years, Olive Franklin; grandchildren, Danny & Gidget Byas, Julie & Brian Kable, Kevin Byas and Amanda & Damian Betz; great-grandchildren, Danny III, Aaron, Haley, Hannah, Gabriel, Noah, Faith, Seth, Aiden and Emerson, and siblings, Winona, William, Dorothy, Francis, Brenda, Vickie and Richard.
Dotson was a life long member of AMVETS and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 followed by Funeral Services at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Blendon Central Cemetery. Please leave a message of condolence for the family during this difficult time.
