Douglas D. Gaines, 80, passed away Nov. 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by mother, Hazel Miller; step-father, George Miller; father, Judson Gaines; brother, Ronald Gaines; and sister, Veronica Horn. Doug is survived by wife of almost 60 years, Carole; sons, Ronald (Susan), Jeffrey (Terri), and Steven Gaines; grandchildren, Jasmine (Randy) Wilkie, Andrew (Sarah Brown) Gaines, Dana (Dan Barnwell) Gaines, Bryan (Kayla Thompson) Gaines, and Jason Gaines; great-grandchildren, Aiden Gaines, Rowan Gaines, Evie Gaines, Rayne McJessy, and Ivy Wilkie; dear family friend, Darlene Rock.
Doug was a Mason, an avid boater, and wood worker. He spent most of his time at Dale Hollow lake enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Doug was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
