Douglas R. Jeffery Sr, 77, Cardington, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late Carlos and Roma (Craddock) Jeffery on August 6, 1929, in Ethel, WV, Douglas is preceded in death by brothers, Ralph "Moe" Jeffery and Carlos Jeffery Jr. Survivors include his wife Lorean (McNelly) Jeffery; daughters, Barbara Kay Clay, Shirley M. (Carl) McClary, Pauline (Paul) White; sons, Douglas, Carlos (Mary), Eugene (Vonda), and Jerry Jeffery; sisters, Nola Kinser, Betty (Ted) Short, Marcella Shoaf; brother, James (Margie) Jeffery; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Douglas was a retired coal miner after 40 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 26, 2007, 1:00PM at the funeral home with burial at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, OH. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerFamily.com
