Douglas James "Dougamoose" Rogers, age 33, of Columbus passed away on March 19, 2023. He was born on November 8, 1989 just 3 minutes before his twin sister to his adoring parents, James "JR" Rogers and Deena Rogers. A joker from the very beginning, it was clear that Doug's interests were in making others laugh. His current favorite hobbies were playing online games such as World of Warcraft as well as spending as much time as he could with his nieces and nephews.
During HS Doug was a member of the swim team, volleyball team, symphonic band (tuba), cross country team, and Northland High School marching band (sousaphone). Once he graduated from HS Doug attended the University of Findlay where he was a member of the marching oiler brass as well as a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi, Gamm Pi chapter (pin number 350). During his time there he added the additional nickname of "Skeeter" to his roster. Doug was employed at Franklin International for the last 8 years as a wastewater operator.
Even though Doug was taken from us much too soon, he was able to teach us so much in such a short amount of time, namely to always look on the bright side, speak in fluent sarcasm and be prepared for his giant back cracking bear hugs. Doug is survived by his mother, Deena Rogers; father, James Rogers; stepmother, Keely Rogers; twin sister, Jamie Rogers; sisters, Murphy Stansberry, Ashley Rine, Emily Rogers; nieces and nephews, Katelynn Balling, Ashleigh Balling, Taylor Balling, David Balling, Nathaniel Balling, Andrew Rettig, Brayden Rogers, Oliver Trolio, Gabrielle Link, Richard Link IV; as well as many other family, friends, fraternity brothers and friends that became the same as family. Doug didn't know a stranger and that can be credited to his huge personality and his one dimpled smile.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Newcomer Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
