D.W. "Pete" Moore

MOORE

D. W. "Pete" Moore passed away March 11, 2010 at Summerville at Outlook Manor. He was born in Ravenswood, WV. Pete was a WWII veteran and served in General Patton's 7th Army throughout Europe. He retired after 42 years from Nabisco Kraft and was affectionately known as the "Cookie Man." He was a loyal Buckeye fan, excelling at tailgating. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ellie. He was a loving father to his daughters, Sherri Moore of Columbus, OH, Lynn (Michael) Kincaid of Pennington, NJ and Bonnie Thomas of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Kristen Kincaid of Yardley, PA, Kathy Mulvany of Portage, MI and Kim Mallory of Mendeville, LA and sister, Peggy (Larry) Cobb of Slippery Rock, PA. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Outlook Manor and Acclaim Hospice for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 5100 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH at 2PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 with Pastor Patricia Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel was honored to serve the Moore family.
