DORR
Dwain P., age 70, of London, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 28th, 2009 at Kobacker Hospice House following a brief illness. He was born November 9, 1939 in Athens, Ohio to the late Paul E. and Mildred (Miller) Dorr. He was raised in Columbus and was a graduate of Columbus West High School, Class of 1957. Dwain attended Columbus College of Art and Design. Self employed for the last 45 years as owner of Dorr Designs and London Signs. For many years Dwain was also the owner of Dorr's Bike Shop in Columbus. He was a graphic designer and worked closely with the OSU sponsored Farm Science Review. Dwain was a past board member of the London Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Choctaw Board of Trustees, as well as a past member of the Luther B. Turner Masonic Lodge of Columbus, and Hilltop Business Association. Dwain was a very social person who liked to talk to customers and friends at great length. He will be sadly missed by many friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his son, Paul E. Dorr. Dwain is survived by his wife Janice of 26 years; brother Eugene of Columbus, daughter Carrie (Kevin) Young of Grove City, sons Dwain (Shalynn) of Terrebonne, OR and Barak (Victoria) of Columbus; stepsons Jeff (Donna) Maxwell of Grove City, Joe (Rachael) Maxwell, Philip (Laura) Maxwell, and Dwight (Saundra) Maxwell, all of Columbus, as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may visit on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010, 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, with funeral service immediately following, all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Private burial will be held at a later date.
