Edith Elaine Clack, 94, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 12th, 2021. Edith was born on January 24th, 1927 in Orange, New Jersey, to Durancy C. Merrick and Minna O. Puff Merrick.
Edith was a generous, strong, and kind-hearted woman who devoted her life to her family. Edith was keen to adventure in her younger years working on a dude ranch in Upstate New York. She loved to reminisce about her time as a young woman working for Manufacturers Hanover Trust in NYC. In 1968, the call of the Rocky Mountains led her from New Jersey to Colorado with her husband and two young children. In Colorado, she became a force to be reckoned with as a civil deputy tax collector for Larimer County. In retirement, Edith was a talented counted cross stitch artist, and a remarkable genealogist. The wealth of family history she gifted to her family will be cherished for generations to come.
Edith will be deeply missed by her two children, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and all those who she dominated at any game (even in her final days).
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her beloved sister, Barbara.
A service for Edith will be held at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, in the late Spring of 2022.
