Edward P. Card, Age 80, of New Albany, Ohio peacefully passed away on March 4, 2022.
Edward was born June 29, 1941, in Chicopee, Massachusetts to Phillip Card and Marie O'Brien.
Edward served in the Unites States Coast Guard from 1959 -1963 as a Dental Technician. He was stationed in Ketchikan, Alaska and Cape May, NJ and truly loved his time in the military service. He worked for John Hancock Insurance Company and Western Southern Insurance company until he retired in 2007. He was an avid model train enthusiast, he loved building model planes and boats and a huge World War II history buff. He enjoyed Sunday drives, hot fudge sundaes, lobsters, and country music, especially Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. He was a true salesman and never met a stranger who didn't become a friend. He always had a funny story or smile to share with his friends, kids, and grandkids.
He was married to his beloved Paula L. Card for 57 years until she passed away last May 15, 2021.
Edward will be deeply missed by his daughter Pamela (Eric) Reisch and son Edward (Brooke) Card and grandchildren, Megan, Maren, Matthew Reisch and Addison Grace and Anna Claire Card as well as his dear friend Matthew Grant Knapp and many other dear friends and neighbors.
Visiting hour will be held on Sunday March 13, 2022, from 3:00- 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Ln. Powell. Funeral service with military rites will be held immediately following at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor John Morris officiating.
